SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): Eleven Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers, including their commander, have surrendered to the Taliban in the Sozma Qala district of northe Sar-i-Pul province, an official said on Sunday. Goveor Mohammad Zahir Wahdat told Pajhwok Afghan News Commander Shah Wali, in-charge of ANA unit in Kor-Khab locality developed links with his father who was the Taliban’s shadow district chief for Takhar’s Dasht-i-Qala district. SHARAN (Pajhwok): The Omna district of southeaste Paktika collapsed to the Taliban on Sunday after five day of continued fighting, an official said. GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Local officials on Saturday said security situation in southe Ghazni province was deteriorating with each passing day after the Ministry of Interior (MoI) downsized police force in the province. GARDEZ (Pajhwok): The reburial of Habibullah Kalakani, known as Afghanistan’s bandit king, triggered a protest in southeaster Paktia province on Friday. Kalakani was reburied in Kabul hours after an attack on the people carrying his coffin. At least four people were injured and one security official killed.
