MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The urban court in northe Balkh province on Saturday sentenced four persons to 15 years in jail each over kidnapping a child. The court handed down the sentences at an open hearing in Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital. Besides parties to the case, joualists and common people were also present at the trial. Judge Wajihuddin sentenced all the four accused Mohammad Bashir, Mohammad Asif, Mirwais and Mohammad Arif to 15 years in jail each under clause four of the anti-kidnapping and smuggling law. KABUL (Pajhwok): As many as 81 attoeys have been killed during the past 14 years in Afghanistan and no one in coection with their murders could be detained, the Attoey General’s Office (AGO) said on Saturday. AGO spokesman Basir Azizi told Pajhwok Afghan News during an interview that elements who were afraid of the rule of law targeted judicial officials. “Attoeys are threatened more than other officials. KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): More than 184,000 hectares of land have been cultivated with wheat in northe Kunduz province, but the yield this year may decline by 20 percent, agriculture officials said on Saturday. Director of Agriculture, Irrigation and LivestockMohammad Nabil Raufi told Pajhwok Afghan News wheat production was not satisfactory for farmers and the authorities conceed in 2016. “Last year, wheat production in Kunduz was recorded at 480,000 toes from 182,000 hectares of land.
