DABS official injured during Taliban attack in Herat

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): A Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) official was wounded during a Taliban attack in Chesht-i-Sharif district of western Herat province on Thursday, an official said.

Farhad Khadmi, the district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban attacked DABS workers and the Afghan National Army (ANA) troops in Asfarz and Stunai areas of Chesht-i-Sharif at around 2pm.

The ensuing battle continued for two hours and DABS deputy head (operations ) sustained injuries due to falling woods during the clash, he said.

He said the battle had ended and the area was under control of security forces

Sayed Ahmad Mohammadi, deputy provincial police spokesman, said ANA forces had reached the area, but had no information about the incident.

The Taliban have also not yet commented about the incident.
