(Pajhwok): Peace is the need for the country, but the govement’sremains unclear on talks with militants, alleged the Wolesi Jirga
deputy speaker on Sunday.
“Peace is the need of the hour as life is impossible without peace. But people want to know what conditions area for that,” as Haji Zahir Qadir.
At a news conference here, he expressed conce over border violations and construction of roadsin Afghan territory by the govement of Pakistan
.
Accepting such moves would undermine Afghanistan
’s territorial integrity, he waed, saying peace based on compromise would create more problems.
About HIA’saouncement to participate in peace talks, he said: “All anti-govement Afghans, who wish to take part in peace talks, are welcome, but we have to wait for the results.”
He asked the govement to identify who it wanted to negotiate peace with, Taliban
or Pakistan. “And what would be the demands of the people who want to talk?” he asked.
Recently, Pakistan violated the border in the Anargi area of Goshta district, but the security persoel remained calm, he said. “It should be clear whether the silence of the govement is compromise over peace.”
