PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): A newly-constructed building for the provincial education
department of central Logar province was inaugurated on Thursday.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Logar education director Mohammad Akbar Stanikzai said the structure cost 21.3 million afghanis provided by the World
Bank and took one year to complete.
He said the building had 33 rooms and its completion resolved many administrative affairs related problems they faced earlier. The education department was earlier run from a rented building.
Logar provincial council chief Syed Qaribullah Sadat said all Afghans should encourage their children towards education which he said was the only way to steer Afghanistan
out of its problems.
The pubic representative urged the govement to launch the land plots distribution process to teachers of Logar.
Speaking on the occasion, Goveor Mohammad Halim Fidai said the Ministry of Education should focus on quality instead of quantity.
“We if improve the education quality, it will resolve many problems our country faces today,” the goveor said.
Deputy education minister Mohammad Ibrahim Shinwari acknowledged the quality of education in Afghanistan was low, but added efforts were being made to improve the education quality.
About a decade ago, another building in front of the new one had been built for the education department, but that building lacked enough space.
