Rebel commander nabbed by intelligence agents in Wardak

KABUL (Pajhwok): Intelligence operatives have detained a Taliban commander in central Maidan Wardak province, the spy agency aounced on Friday.

Qari Yousaf was nabbed during a special raid in the Sheikhabad area of Syedabad district, a statement from the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said.

The commander was accused of planting landmines on Kabul-Kandahar highway, attacks on security forces’ logistical convoys and other terrorist activities.

Without giving any date for the arrest, the NDS claimed seizing two heavy machine guns, a Kalashnikov assault rifles, ammunition and a walkie-talkie from Qari Yousaf.
