JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A lawmaker from easte Nangarhar province on Monday lashed out at the unity govement for what he said failing to deliver on its promises and taking no steps to resolve people’s problems. Faridoon Momand, a lower house of parliament or Wolesi Jirga member, was addressing a gathering of tribal elders at his residence in Jalalabad, the provincial capital. The MP said people used to share their problems with lawmakers who passed them on to provincial authorities who then referred the problems to central govement but the central govement again referred the same to the provincial administration.     “We wonder with whom we should share people’s problems; neither the central govement nor the provincial govement is responding to our requests.” Momand said they gathered on Monday to make joint decision how their issues could be considered by authorities. SHEBRGHAN (Pajhwok): A boy has killed his six years old sister while playing with a hunting gun in Mangjak district of northweste Jwzjan province, an official said on Monday. Mohammad Reza Ghafoori, the goveor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident took place when a seven years old boy was playing with a hunting gun and mistakenly pressed its trigger. He said the gun fire hit the girl and killed her. The brother and sister were playing with the gun alone in a room of their house and their parents and family members were in the house’s yard when the incident happened, he added. Police have launched an investigation into the incident. A number of residents of the area linked such incidents to negligence of parents. KABUL (Pajhwok): After heavy clashes with Afghan forces, the Taliban militants on Saturday took control of the Khanabad district of northeaste Kunduz province, an official said. Hayatullah Amiri, the town’s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the insurgents launched group attacks on the district centre some days ago, with security forces ending resistance this moing. “The district’s office complex is currently under Taliban’s control. KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The Provincial Council (PC) head of northe Kunduz province on Friday waed of Taliban’s possible attempt to overrun the Imam Sahib district. Mohammad Yousuf Ayubi told Pajhwok Afghan News heavy clashes were underway between security forces and the Taliban on the outskirts of the district and if proper attention was not paid to the situation there was chances the insurgents may overrun the district. He said the Taliban stormed attacks from different sides and captured some areas, but security forces retake them. Security officials, however, rejected the conce of PC and said clearing operation had been launched and the district would never fall to the militants. Mohammad Khalil, another PC member, acknowledged clashes between militants and security forces. “If security forces in the district did not get support from air and ground the district will fall to the Taliban,” he believed.
