3 brothers shot dead, as many injured by gunmen in Baghlan

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Local officials on Thursday said three brothers were killed and as many others wounded by a group of illegal gunmen in northe Baghlan province.

Haji Mohammad Sher, a resident of Ulia village of Jalga district, told Pajhwok Afghan News the presence of illegal armed men in Baghlan, was increasing with  each passing day.

“Armed supporters of an illegal commander named Inamullah killed three brothers and injured three others over a dispute on irrigation water in Ulia village on Monday evening, No one has yet asked the gunmen about the killings,” he said.

Shercomplained the irresponsible gunmen were extorting money from residents and posing a big threat to public order in the area.

Raz Mohammad, another inhabitant of the area,allegedthe blood of innocent people had no value in eyes of the national unity govement. He said security officials had not reached the area to investigate the incident.

“The govement seems to have no writ here. We request the officials conceed to crack down on the illegal armed men and ensure people’s security,” he said.

Jalga district chief, Gul Agha, confirmed the incident and said the area was unstable.He expressed conce over the presence of gunmen. He acknowledged the armed grips were disrupting public security in the district.
