Laghman agriculture director held on embezzlement charges

MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): The agriculture director of eastern Laghman province, charged with embezzlement, is being interrogated by the attorney department, an official said on Saturday.

Sarhadi Zwak, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan NewsMohammad Ismael Dawlatzaihad been accused of embezzling funds in procurement cases.

He said the attorney department issued arrest warrantsfor Dawlatzai after some important papers went missing from the file. The director is under investigation, Zwak added.
