JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A lawmaker from easte Nangarhar province on Monday lashed out at the unity govement for what he said failing to deliver on its promises and taking no steps to resolve people’s problems. Faridoon Momand, a lower house of parliament or Wolesi Jirga member, was addressing a gathering of tribal elders at his residence in Jalalabad, the provincial capital. The MP said people used to share their problems with lawmakers who passed them on to provincial authorities who then referred the problems to central govement but the central govement again referred the same to the provincial administration.     “We wonder with whom we should share people’s problems; neither the central govement nor the provincial govement is responding to our requests.” Momand said they gathered on Monday to make joint decision how their issues could be considered by authorities. SHEBRGHAN (Pajhwok): A boy has killed his six years old sister while playing with a hunting gun in Mangjak district of northweste Jwzjan province, an official said on Monday. Mohammad Reza Ghafoori, the goveor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident took place when a seven years old boy was playing with a hunting gun and mistakenly pressed its trigger. He said the gun fire hit the girl and killed her. The brother and sister were playing with the gun alone in a room of their house and their parents and family members were in the house’s yard when the incident happened, he added. Police have launched an investigation into the incident. A number of residents of the area linked such incidents to negligence of parents. PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): A 45-year-old woman from southe Kandahar province has died of the Congo virus at a hospital in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Fatima Bibi, who was admitted to the Fatima Jinnah Chest and TB Hospital in Quettafour days back, breathed her last late on Sunday, local media reported. KABUL (Pajhwok): The Enlightenment Movement on Wednesday once again stressed TUTAP project’s implementation through central Bamyan province and set the govement a two-week deadline to accept their demand. Mohammad Arif Rahmani, a member of the movement, told a press conference in Kabul: “If the govement ignores our demand until the Chehlam of Deh Mazang suicide attack martyrs, the Enlightenment Movement would get more strength and increase its civil activities.” On July 23, more than 80 people were killed and 230 wounded in twin suicide attacks that ripped through a protest demonstration in Deh Mazang area of Kabul. KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Local officials in southeaste Khost province on Sunday pledged greater services and facilities for the residents of the provincial capital. Khost City Mayor Eng. Mohammad Umar told Pajhwok Afghan News that 14 ongoing development projects, including the construction of roads, bridges, culverts and canals, would be completed soon. He said the projects would be completed at a cost of 260 million afghanis. The most important project was the construction and rehabilitation of a seven kilometres road inside the city, he added. “Some roads constructed decades earlier were in dilapidated condition and its rehabilitation was necessary and the municipality gives priority to the project,” the mayor added. Residents expressed happiness over the execution of uplift project in the city, hoping most of their problems would be resolved with the completion of the projects.
