GARDEZ (Pajhwok): The reburial of Habibullah Kalakani, known as Afghanistan’s bandit king, triggered a protest in southeaster Paktia province on Friday. Kalakani was reburied in Kabul hours after an attack on the people carrying his coffin. At least four people were injured and one security official killed. Kalakani served as king for a few months in 1929. He led the revolt against King Amanullah’s modeisation plans with the help of various tribes. HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): A Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) official was wounded during a Taliban attack in Chesht-i-Sharif district of weste Herat province on Thursday, an official said. Farhad Khadmi, the district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban attacked DABS workers and the Afghan National Army (ANA) troops in Asfarz and Stunai areas of Chesht-i-Sharif at around 2pm. MEHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): One civilian was killed and six others wounded during a clash between security forces and Taliban militants in Tagab district of central Kapisa province on Friday, an official said. The goveor’s spokesman, Qais Qaderi, told Pajhwok Afghan News the early moing clash erupted after insurgents attacked Titarkhel and Korghal security posts in the district. KABUL (Pajhwok): A Taliban’s deputy intelligence agent for northe Balkh province has been arrested by National Directorate of Security (NDS) persoel, the spy service said on Wednesday. A statement from NDS said the detainee, Mirwais alias Rahbar, was arrested red-handed collecting information about activities and movement of Afghan security forces.
